Bhabhi Thulla (also known as Bhabi, Thulla, Get Away, Pabho, or Donkey) is one of South Asia's most famous and thrilling traditional card games played across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and worldwide diaspora communities.

Unlike standard trick-taking games like Bridge or Spades where the objective is to collect points or tricks, Bhabhi Thulla is an evasion game. The ultimate goal is to get away by shedding all 13 cards from your hand. The last player left holding cards is branded the Bhabhi (the loser).

Master Strategies to Escape Early

  • Void a Suit Early: Play down short suits so you become void. Once you have no cards of a suit, you can freely discard heavy, dangerous cards whenever that suit is led.
  • Duck When Leading is Dangerous: In Bhabhi, winning tricks is not always desirable because the winner must lead the next trick. If you hold low cards, play under the highest card to stay safe.
  • Off-Suit Power Discard: When you cannot follow suit, discard your highest singletons (like an isolated King or Ace of another suit) to neutralize future liabilities.
